Whether it enters your life as a result of a loss, a change of season, unemployment, or generally feeling overwhelmed with thoughts and feelings, depression is no picnic. It can be difficult to look forward to anything and gain motivation to improve how you feel. Depression feeds off of itself and can lead you into a downward spiral of rumination, negativity, lethargy, and just not feeling like yourself. Life feels like an effort. Everything feels heavy. Taking care of yourself is a chore. You may feel trapped in your mind, body, and emotions.
Reaching out for help is a courageous and wonderful act of self-care. Simply unloading your burdens can help you feel like you are not alone in your struggle. I will walk with you and encourage you as you start the climb out of the spiral. Together we will identify and remove the obstacles that are in the way of you living your best life. You will find ways to handle your thoughts, feelings, and sensations so that you don’t get sucked back into the spiral. Together we will untangle the struggle, targeting mind, body, and emotions so that you can once again live life at full capacity.
