COVID-19: Saying “yes” in uncertainty

We are living in an interesting time.  We didn't sign up for this but actually we did, because we are human beings.  Dealing with the effects of coronavirus is part of the human experience right now.  Feeling emotions about this is part of the human experience too.

This is what it is to be human.  Can you drop into this space?  Just settle there for a minute?  Because we are human beings, we get to live through a full range of life experiences which include both the positive and the negative.   Are you willing to say YES to it all?  Saying YES does not mean you like it or agree with it or want it to continue.  Saying YES means you can settle into the reality of what it is to be human: the beauty, the sorrow, and everything in between.

Today I say YES.  I don't argue with reality because that causes me to suffer unnecessarily.  I say YES to uncertainty, YES to my feelings, YES to the beautiful souls I get to talk to today, YES to the schools closing, and YES to the unknown.  Most importantly, I open up and say YES to ME.  I allow myself to be human and experience my own landscape of ever-changing thoughts and feelings during this time.

Until next time,
